Soneros de Verdad

Productsdescription:

Son Cubano from the Band of a Former Member of the Legendary Buena Vista Social Club. Luis Frank(singer and leader of the Soneros de Verdad) is a master of son cubano. His command of this passionate brand of Cuban music is incomparable. His band, the Soneros de Verdad, sees itself as the second generation following in the footsteps of Buena Vista. It comprises seven virtuoso musicians from the land of Fidel Castro who are regarded as being among the world’s best. With their incomparable mixture of salsa, tima, Latin pop and Latin hip-hop they bring pure joie de vivre onto the stage wherever they go, energising all their listeners. Luis Frank has taken part in productions by Soneros de Verdad and received euphoric accolades for his solo work "Cuba Total". His fellow Cubans have given him the nickname "El Macry". He is the lead singer of the formation and an outstanding vocalist, and he now cuts a fine figure as a crooner. The youngest artists include Arlenys Rodriguez Lazo and Annalays Serrano Lazo, the Chiki Chaka Girls. Although the two sisters are only in their early twenties, they already have a reputation as a real find with star qualities. The twens from Pinar del Rio were sung to right from the cradle and were always heading for a musical career: their mother Maria Elena Lazo has entertained the audiences of the Tropicana Cabaret for many years with her lively vocals. Their uncles Juan Pablo Torres (trombonist and music producer) and Mayito Rivera (see below) are in the music business too. With those genes Arlenys and Annalays just had to become musicians themselves. Mario "Mayito" Rivera, whom a journalist once aptly called the "Mick Jagger of Cuba", is a musician of modern sound; this young people’s idol with his fashionable style is the successful face of the supergroup Los Van Van, has been guest musician for Issac Delgado and Bamboleo, and is a superb soloist on albums such as "Llego la Hora".

The Buena Vista Social Club put Cuba back on the musical map. Now it is the turn of the children and grandchildren of the aged musicians, who are making sure that the flame of Cuban music burns brightly and will continue to do so.
